The tough girl shoes have reemerged, although for many they have never gone out of fashion. In fact, this style dates back to the 1940’s when Klaus Märtens, a doctor in the German Army during World War II, created the boot as an alternative to the standard-issue army boots after he injured his ankle skiing.
Our old school punk personality is more than happy to embrace this heavy-duty footwear trend, especially as these chunky shoes come in an array of styles and can be paired with anything from sporty joggers, denim shorts and pretty floral dresses.
